Want To Speak? Submit Abstract for your Oral, Poster or Video Presentation

Abstracts & Submission

To apply for an oral presentation, poster and video contributions, authors are invited to provide an abstract of no more than 200 words. The abstract should address clearly one of the thematic or general sessions of the conference:

Thematic sessions:

  • Conservation and management of mosaics in situ
  • Mosaics in a new context: museum and storage collections
  • Shelters on archaeological sites
  • Mosaics in urban environments
  • Mosaics in conflict zones
  • Modern and communist era mosaics

General-sessions:

  • Methods of survey and documentation
  • Conservation and management of mosaics
  • Presentation and display
  • Education and training
  • Best practice case-studies

Proper submissions include full name, affiliation, and contact details (postal, email addresses, phone numbers). If there is more than one author, please indicate the corresponding author(s). 

The deadline for the submission of abstracts (papers, posters, videos) is February 15th, 2020. Authors will be contacted by April 2020 about acceptance of their contributions. In some cases applicants for oral presentations might be invited to present within the poster session.

Guidelines will be sent in due course to the authors whose papers, posters and videos have been accepted for presentation.

Oral Presentations

Presentations will be divided into theme-sessions and general-sessions. Each presentation will be limited to 15 minutes. A 30 minutes discussion will conclude each session.

The projection will be optimized for 16:9 screen format. Nonetheless traditional screen formats such as 4:3 will be supported as well.

Files should be compatible with Microsoft Powerpoint, LibreOffice Impress or Adobe AcrobatReader.

Poster Session

Poster sessions will be organized at the same venue and will be open to the public. Poster authors will present their work during the sessions time to fellow colleagues.

Selected authors are expected to bring their posters printed in the following dimensions:  DIN A0 841×1189 mm.

The posters will be made available at the ICCM website soon after the conference. For this purpose, poster authors are kindly requested to bring a high quality PDF file of their posters (no less than 5MB and no more than 30MB).

Printed and digital versions of the posters should be handed to the conference registration desk on arrival.

Video Session

Contributions address aspects of manufacturing, art and significance, conservation, presentation, education, and preservation best practices. Participants whose videos have been accepted for presentation will be called to submit a low quality (preview) version of their video by May 15th 2020. Maximum video length is 5 minutes. Further guidelines will be given soon.
